Dear Weaver Mountains Community and Home-Delivered Meal Friends,
We are so very happy to say that our meals program has continued even in the midst of another challenging year. Come rain, shine, or Covid we still delivered meals. We even continue to grow our meals program and in 2021 will have delivered over 15,000 meals to area residents. And as we improve awareness of the need in our community we hope to continue to grow our numbers.
With this uptick in meals delivered there is an even greater need as we work to cover the blessing of more meals. Inflation aside, we would still need more money to cover the additional meals. This is where you come in, or at least your taxes do. With the Arizona State Tax Credit, you give and you get it all back!
- An Arizona taxpayer may contribute up to $800 as a couple and $400 for individuals.
- Yarnell Regional Community Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our Tax Identification Number is 74-246791C.
- We are recognized by the State of Arizona as a Qualifying Charitable Organization #21047.
- We do not cap or limit the number of seniors we serve. No one is turned away. Last year we delivered over 15,000 meals.
- Your support makes all this possible and this Opportunity is available until April 15, 2022.
“It wasn’t until I had eye surgery that I really understood how important the Meals On Wheels program is. I was told I may not see again – and living with that fear every day for 6 weeks would have been overwhelming. But every day, a friendly voice came to bring me lunch, ask how I was feeling, and cheered me up. And so while I lay prone most of those 6 weeks, face down with as little movement as possible, I was able to sit up briefly, enjoy the delicious lunch, and know that people were looking out for me. It made all the difference in the world. And when the doctors told me that I had gone from the back of the line to the top of the class, I was overwhelmed with relief, joy and awe. The MOW folks were part of that journey; I will be forever grateful. “
Wishing you all the best in 2022 and beyond. Let’s make this a great year!
With gratitude and sincere appreciation,
Jimmy Miller, Executive Director
